Crisis protocol
What happens in a crisis.
"You will never be the sole responder in a 2 AM crisis on Menthra. That is a commitment."
When a client's conversation pattern suggests crisis, Menthra's safety classifier engages. Our four-step protocol, engage, query, deescalate, escalate, runs in front of every companion conversation.
The AI Twin pauses normal behavior and surfaces crisis resources immediately, including Tele-MANAS 14416, Vandrevala Foundation, and local emergency numbers. The escalation protocol routes the situation to our on-call Care team. You are notified with full session context as the client's primary clinician, consulted, not first responder.
Where appropriate and authorized by the client at registration, we coordinate with their emergency contact and, in imminent-risk cases, with emergency services.

What we ask of you
- ✓Maintain active RCI registration and professional indemnity coverage at all times.
- ✓Respond to client messages within 24 hours for non-urgent matters; faster for flagged sessions.
- ✓Complete clinical documentation per Indian Council standards. We provide templates; you own the record.
- ✓Complete onboarding modules: platform use, crisis protocol, client privacy, AI Twin oversight, about 2 hours total.
- ✓Notify the Care team of any extended unavailability so client care is coordinated.
What we do not do
- ✗We do not sell your data, your conversation content, or your client’s data.
- ✗We do not market services in your name without your written approval.
- ✗We do not decide your clinical approach or treatment methods.
- ✗We do not use AI to make diagnostic or prescribing decisions, ever.
- ✗We do not use your client conversations to train foundation AI models.

Before Menthra, I spent two decades in technology, Chief Technologist at American Airlines, Sabre, and EDS. I founded EmpowerMX in 2010 and sold it to IFS in 2024. Along the way I wrote a book called Becoming Human, about imperfection and purpose, and gave a TEDx talk called The Algorithm That Broke Me.
You own your clinical judgment, your methods, and your professional liability. Menthra carries the platform, the technology, the safety architecture, the platform's own conduct, the privacy posture, and the operational backstop in a crisis. How fast is India onboarding from RCI verification to live?

Most India clinicians are practicing within 2 weeks of RCI verification. We move fast because the demand is there and the verification path is clean, RCI registrations are publicly checkable.
Can I take both Indian and US clients from India?

Yes, if you are comfortable practicing in English and your scope of practice and RCI authorization permit it. You would be paid in INR for Indian clients and USD for US/diaspora clients via AautiPay’s multi-rail. Tax handled per jurisdiction.
Who covers my professional indemnity?

You do. We require minimum coverage levels (specified in the Clinician Platform Agreement) and verify coverage as part of onboarding.
What happens to my clients if I leave Menthra?

Your clients are your clients. On exit, we provide them with your forwarding information (subject to your consent) and provide you with their session history and clinical records per the portability terms in the Agreement.
Do I own my AI Twin?

You retain ownership of your voice, your clinical methods, and your training inputs. Menthra licenses the AI Twin technology to you while you are on platform. On exit, your Twin is deactivated and your training inputs are returned or deleted per the Agreement.
How does payment work?

Weekly via Cashfree, INR, TDS handled at source. Dual-currency option available, clinicians taking USD-paying clients are paid via AautiPay’s multi-rail at the daily mid-market rate.
What is the engagement structure?

Independent contractor per Indian contracting norms. You bill Menthra India Private Limited for sessions delivered.
